Tea lovers of all kinds can gather for great fun, friendship, and—of course—lots of tea when the Tea Lovers Festival kicks off May 1-3 in Pasadena, California.
Since its inception in 2006, the Tea Lovers Festivals is the longest-running tea festival in the United States and has fostered the culture, tradition, and unifying nature of teatime in this interactive convention-style event that spans the weekend and will take tea lovers on a trip around the wonderful world of tea with opportunities to attend tastings, tea labs (Tea Drops will be hosting one! Keep reading to learn more), and a marketplace to buy all things tea-related.
Kicking off the event with an evening opening VIP party, writer of the acclaimed book Life By The Cup, Zhena Muzyka will be hosting a gypsy tea party. Attendees will hear excerpts from her book and can enjoy tarot card readings while dining on specialty treats and lots of tea, of course!
The Tea Drops team will be hosting a tea lab, a hands-on workshop, on the evening of May 2nd, from 4-5:30pm. We will take you on a worldwide tour as we pair tea with dessert in an event that is sure to satisfy your ear for knowledge and your sweet tooth. Tickets for this add-on event are available on the Festival’s Eventbrite Page and are priced at $37.92 ($35 per ticket + $2.92 fee).
There will be additional workshops (ranging from $11.54 and up) including a brewing tutorial, a Korean tea immersion, specific tea lectures, and a tea-party planning class, to name a few of the highlights. Of course, the popular Tea Marketplace is returning to be an event fixture and Tea Drops will certainly be in attendance—entrance to the Marketplace is free, as always!
This year’s festivities are particularly special because it marks 10 years of this event, which was made possible by a successful Kickstarter Campaign! It is so exciting to see so many people coming together to support a cultural and foodie event so near and dear to our hearts. We hope that you will join us as we hit the road in May!
This year’s Tea Lover’s Festival is split between two locales. On Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 the event will be housed at the Armory for the Arts at 145 North Raymond Ave, Pasadena CA 91103. The Festival will wrap 2up on Sunday May 3 at Stats, 120 South Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105. Tickets (we recommend purchasing the full weekend pass at $125 to enjoy all the perks of the Festival!) and details on the event can be found at the event's Eventbrite page. Be sure to check out the official Tea Lover's Festival Website, too.
