In honor of International Women’s Month and Women’s History Month we wanted to highlight an amazing woman that is part of keeping Tea Drops going! Meet Maria Rodriguez, the Operations Supervisor at Tagg Logistics, our fulfillment center. Enjoy getting to know her and all she does for Tea Drops in this Q&A.
1. What do you do for Tea Drops?
I am the Operations Supervisor at TAGG. I’m involved in everything that Tea Drops needs from TAGG Logistics, from customer service to order fulfillment to inventory control to special packaging projects and everything and anything in between.
2. How long have you been in your profession and what do you love about it?
I have been in the E-commerce field with TAGG logistics for the past 14 months and have been in the logistics/warehousing field for the past 10+ years. What I love is that no two days are the same. Each day presents a new challenge to be conquered.
3. Who is a woman you admire and why?
There are a number of women I have crossed paths with in my life that I admire and a number of reasons for which I admire them. But the woman I admire most is my grandmother, the late Gregoria Vazquez. She was the most courageous woman I have ever known. My grandmother was always there for me. It is because of her and her influence on me, that I am the woman I am today and for that I am thankful and grateful. She was the most determined woman I have ever known. Despite having to quit school at age ten to help her mother raise her siblings, she persisted, she preserved. That is what I admire most about her. She did not allow her lack of education nor the struggles of her life to prevent her from being successful, from reaching her goal of one day opening her own business, a restaurant, which she did at the age of forty-five. She showed that determination and hard work have their rewards. For that, she is my inspiration.
4. We’re celebrating International Women’s Day all month long! When do you feel most empowering/what makes you feel empowered?
Empowering for me is best summed up with a quote “When my presence in a room does not revolve around the fact that I am a woman, but rather, around what I can bring to the table as a human.” Unfortunately, I am unable to recall who the original author is.
5. What is your favorite Tea Drop?
