While we find ourselves anxious to travel again, we wonder how we can bring travel to us! One inspiring destination that Tea Drops loves is Paris. We were sad, but not surprised,to find out that coffee is the most consumed beverage (with tea coming to a very close second!) in Paris! We were, however, happy to discover tea culture is more than just present in Parisian cafes, but also in special tea cafes called Tea Salons (similar to what we know as Tea Houses).
One thing that makes tea time unique in France, is the distinctive French pâtisserie that accompanies your tea. Known for their delicious and decadent desserts and pastries, Parisians usually find a sweet treat to accompany their tea of choice at teatime .The French tend to primarily drink black tea varieties or herbal, and compared to the British they seem less likely to add milk or lemon to their tea.
We were so inspired by afternoon tea time in Paris! In Paris, this time is taken every day around 4:30pm, by some, to pause, slow down, and relax-- which is why we're inviting you to join us for a Paris staycation... we want you to have the most relaxing experience! While Parisians enjoy both herbal teas like mint, and black teas of all sorts, grab some of our handpicked teas for this staycation— and learn about the City of Lights from our eyes, as well as the importance of taking a pause in your day to reflect and care for yourself.
For centuries, Paris has been one of the world’s most important and attractive cities. It is appreciated for the opportunities it offers for business, education, fashion, culture, and for entertainment. Paris has been regarded as the main cultural powerhouse of the Western world, and is a magnet for artists and intellectuals because its considered a place where new ideas originate and art is held to a high standard. This notion was especially true in the early part of the 20th century, when the city was favored by numerous writers and artists, including Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, and Amedeo Modigliani. From the history to the culture and lifestyle, Paris is a favorite amongst travelers from all over the world and the perfect place to bring into your own home.
